How to Stop the Zombie Cell Apocalypse

HOw to stop the zombie cell apocalypse

By Shane Sauer

I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and that you avoided the flooding yesterday. I almost got stuck on I-95 and Rt-10, but somehow managed to avoid it!

The sight of the highway being closed like that quickly took my thoughts to scenes from a Zombie Apocalypse movie where cars are randomly stranded on the roads.

Ironically, that’s similar to what I wanted to share with you today!

A week or so ago, I read an AP news article that taught me something new about aging and how to stay vital as you age. (There’s a nice summary video at the end of the page, too.)

In 1960 scientists discovered Senescent cells – cells that can no longer divide.

These “Zombie” cells aren’t dead, but they don’t act like normal cells either. And they can cause damage to healthy cells around them.

Typically, these cells are removed by your body, but sometimes they get missed. As you age, more and more of these cells can build up in your body.

Scientists are now working on new drugs to help the immune system deal with Zombie cells in the hopes of managing or preventing many age-related issues from Alzheimers to wrinkles!

But until these drugs are created, you do have one powerful tool for killing Zombie cells – Exercise!!

Maybe that’s why the first rule in Zombieland is… Cardio.

Now if you want to avoid the Zombie Cell Apocalypse, there’s no time like the present to start preparing.
