The Human Experience

The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies because it has so many quotable moments.

We all experience pain. And while it is never pleasant, it is a necessary part of life.

Pain teaches you what is safe and what is dangerous. Pain makes you aware of problems with your body so you can take action to correct them. Pain can even bring us together through shared experiences.

What’s so confusing about pain is that it is unique and individual. Even though we all share in it, each person’s experience is different.

So when it comes to dealing with pain, there are two critical things to remember:

  1. Pain is your subconscious brain’s way of requesting change.

  2. Your subconscious brain is not required to make sense to you.

By keeping these concepts in mind when you’re experiencing pain, it becomes much easier to cope and manage the pain.

Knowing that pain is just a request for change encourages you to realize the pain is not a punishment, and it is not permanent.

Realizing your brain doesn’t have to make sense to you empowers you to think out of the box and try different solutions.

Combining these concepts should give you hope that you can get out of pain and back to living your life!

I teach a workshop on this topic. It teaches you to understand pain better and provides you with a number of new and different techniques for managing it.

And unlike the quote above states, I’m not trying to sell you something. This event is free and you can watch a recording here!

This is information we can all benefit from, whether you’re currently dealing with pain or not. When you’re done watching, reach out with any questions you have.
